Big News!
Only Son’s new album, “Searchlight”, has an official release date! On January 18, 2011, it goes up for sale online and in indie record stores all across America. Between two years of touring and learning to use the new studio, this record has been a long time in the making; but the day has finally come and we’re all beyond excited over here. It will have twelve songs (plus a bonus track for iTunes) and special guest appearances by some amazing friends including members of The Strokes, Of Montreal, Little Joy and Robbers On High Street. The record will also feature “Call Them Brothers”, a duet written and sung with Regina Spektor! Um, wow.

Magic caught on video
I’m super excited to report that I’ve been on a video-shooting streak with a bunch of incredible directors. We’ve made four videos so far and plan on making even more – look for them on YouTube in the next few months. The first one, “Magic”, was directed by the mega-talented (and VMA nominated, ahem) Adria Petty, who has also made videos for Kings of Leon, Regina Spektor and Beyonce (!).
This record will be self-released so we could use your help getting the word out; you can post it on your blogs and profiles, send emails with video links, or just tell your friends using that old school contraption at the bottom of your face – whatever you can do! And if you’re not already on it, please sign up for the mailing list so you can find out about shows and other cool happenings as they happen. 2011 is gonna be huge, dudes… Can’t wait to see you at the shows!
